The Studio Art School is a member of Midlothian Chamber of Commerce. It is approved as a centre by The City & Guilds of London Institute, ABC Awards and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). The Studio Art School acknowledges the support of Midlothian Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise.
Information on visitors: Visitors can access the home page and public areas of our website without disclosing personal details. Our website does not allow visitors to communicate with other visitors or to post information which can be accessed by others. In order to improve the operation of our website, we may collect information on browser behavior by using automatic technology, such as cookies. The data collected does not identify individual users, and users may modify their browser to prevent cookies.
Personal information: In order to receive and use the Studio Art School's services, you will be asked to submit personal information (eg name and e-mail address). Personal information will be used only for our core business and marketing purposes. It will not be disclosed to anyone outside the Studio Art School without first obtaining your consent, unless we are obliged by law to disclose it.

City and Guilds candidates The following information applies to those students enrolling on programmes certficated by the City and Guilds of London Institute:
City and Guilds and its agents may use or otherwise process personal data and sensitive personal data, so as to enable them to:
In relation to the Studio Art School:
- Fulfil our contractual responsibilities to the School and to enable the School to fulfil its contractual obligations to candidates
- Provide the School with details of our on-going programmes and courses
In relation to candidates:
- Contact them directly in relation to City and Builds centre approval or qualifications and/or quality control purposes undertaken by City and Guilds and/ or inform them of products or services offered by City and Guilds or selected their parties
- Carry out statistical analysis which may be carried out by us or selected third parties
- Give personal or sensitive personal data (as appropriate) relating to candidates, to regulatory and industry bodies where there is an appropriate request or requirement in contract or by law.
This would be to:
Ensure they can monitor equal opportunities relating to ethnicity or disability or other such monitoring purposes.
Account for candidates where there is a requirement to do so.
Contact a candidate directly if there are a requirement for s such bodies and the information is not readily accessible by other means.
Disclose personal data relating to candidates to regulatory and industry bodies or other selected third parties solely for the purpose of providing prizes, remuneration and awards for candidates
City and Guilds may also need to transfer the personal data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) subject to City and Guilds using all reasonable efforts to ensure that any such transferred date is afforded the same necessary protection as if it were being processed within the EEA
You have the right to require City and Guilds to correct any inadequacies in the personal details they hold about you and to object to any direct marketing which they carry out using your personal details. You also have the right to ask for a copy of the information held by City and Guilds in their records in return for payment of a small fee which will not exceed £10. Candidates should contact City and Guilds directly if they wish to obtain a copy of the personal data which City and Guilds hold in relation to them.
